Guitar Pillow Concert

Union of the Architects in Bulgaria, 11 Krakra Str., Hall 2
11 November 2012 (Sunday)

All pillows have been reserved for the 11 a.m. concert on November 11! By popular demand for the opening of Season 2012/2013, a second concert is scheduled for 5 p.m. You can make a reservation via the reservations section at the website of Pillow Concerts.

Three classical acoustic guitars will open Season 2012/2013 of the Pillow Concerts.

Parents and their children will become acquainted with the Baroque music of Vivaldi, Monteverdi, Handel, the Classical period music of Boccherini and the Romantic music of Schubert. The finale will be passionate and Spanish, with samba, bullfight music and habanera – music that will give kids a great opportunity to dance.

Tsvetelina Breshkova, Iliyan Galabov and Yosif Shukerov are the talented young musicians that will introduce us to the world of the classical guitar. All of them are graduates of the National School of Music ‘Lubomir Pipkov’ and are award-winners of a number of national and international competitions.

The contemporary classical guitar has six strings and one of its predecessor was the lute. It is also called ‘Spanish’ guitar and is directly connected to Spanish culture and traditions. It is interesting to know that Franz Schubert composed part of his works on the guitar, because he could not afford a piano.

Pillow Concerts’ trademark – 150 soft pillows, 150 special musical sheets and at least three times more color pencils are awaiting the audience for the opening of Season 2012/2013.
