SM&RT Pillow Concerts

150 pillows were not enough for the enthusiastic mothers, fathers and children to listen to classical music presented with love and care by the participating musicians in the SM&RT: Subtitled Music and Art festival in the Military club in May 2012.

Both weekends the Concert hall was a gathering place for the families willing to listen to live performances of music by Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, and Debussy.

Veneta Neynska, Stefan Hadjiev, Andrew Brownell, and Ruzha Semova presented to the children the music of the great composers in a fascinating, accessible and interesting way.

Among the announcements of the musicians, one could hear stories about little and big dancing ghosts, beautiful nature scenes – seas, mountains, and wind. The willing to dance were not a few, there were others eager to climb on the stage and even participate with their own improvisasion on the magnificent concert grand piano during the performance of the older pianists. The musical sheets and pencils were an attraction for the youngest audience members and their parents with their original shape of an eight note. The real surprise for everyone was the musical gift by Little Owl they left with from the Festival Pillow Concerts.
